Product Description
In 2017, José Federico Salvador planted his first hectare of coffee using savings from his job as a driver. As he began purchasing coffee cherries in addition to his own harvest, his combined production allowed him to expand his plantation to four hectares. Since 2018, José has partnered with Becamo, and in 2022, he collaborated with technicians from the Unit for Sustainable Services to Producers (USSP) to explore innovative specialty coffee processing methods. These techniques revealed the full potential of José’s coffee, which he says “not only improves quality but also qualifies me for better prices, providing a valuable additional income for my family.”
José’s farm is located in the Las Moras area of San Andrés, Lempira, Honduras, where he cultivates Yellow Catuai, Parainema, and IHCAFE 90 varietals at 1,485 meters above sea level. The coffee harvest season runs from January through May.
