This premium coffee blend features beans from high-altitude estates in Southern and Northern Tanzania, including the Lunji, Utengule, and Kanji Lanji estates in the south, and the Mondul, Burka, Ngila, and Lyamungu estates in the north.
In Southern Tanzania, particularly in the Mbozi and Mbeya regions, the coffee production is typically under 500 metric tons annually. The Utengule, Lunji, and Kanji Lanji estates are renowned for their exceptional quality. The Utengule estate, in particular, is a well-established East African coffee farm known for its exquisite beans. It boasts a diverse range of rare trees and flowers, along with several rivers. A visit to this 500-acre estate offers a fascinating glimpse into the processes of coffee cultivation, harvesting, and processing.
The Northern estates have a rich history, established by German and Italian settlers as far back as 1899. These settlers, captivated by East Africa, founded coffee plantations that have been maintained by their descendants. Today, these farms continue to produce high-quality coffee, reflecting a legacy of dedication and passion for the region’s unique coffee heritage.
